Annual base compensation is approximately $100,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus. Western NY State based independent forest products company is seeking a manager to oversee all phases of a 30 MMBF operation from log receiving to shipping. Selected candidate must have a skillset focused on abilities to oversee all phases of daily operations. Over time, the operation can be expanded to double current output of this profitable business owned by an absentee owner. Selected candidate must have demonstrated experience in leadership, training, safety, process improvement, capital budgeting, and long-term planning in log-to-green lumber conversion and/or post pealing businesses. Responsibilities include operator training, scheduling, quality control, preventative maintenance with a focus on lean manufacturing improvements. Proven leadership skills in managing structural lumber processing operations are essential. Selected candidate must be a team player with a proven track record in continuous improvement and safety. NEW - Maintenance Planner/Supervisor
Base salary to $100,000…DOE. Pacific NW green stud mill complex is seeking a skilled candidate to manage all phases of mill maintenance support. This includes parts purchasing, maintenance planning and scheduling, electrical and mechanical crew supervision with 12+ skilled trade’s people. The selected candidate will report to the plant manager. Skills in maintenance management (including the use of CMMS software) and preventative maintenance planning, with a focus on reducing unscheduled downtime, are essential. Major integrated forest products firm is seeking to hire a BSME, with 8 plus years experience in lumber/plywood mill modernization project design, contractor oversight and equipment startups. Project assignments at multi-mill sites in the US require 40% travel. Project Engineer will be located either at a mill site in Pacific NW or in the Upper Midwest. Selected candidate must be skilled in written and verbal communications, use of AutoCAD software, mechanical engineering standards, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and scheduling software. Corporate Engineering Manager
Base salary to $140,000 and overall compensation package negotiable. Our client, a major bioenergy industrial equipment design, fabricator and installer, is seeking an engineering candidate to oversee the project engineering, design and support staff functions.
This newly created position requires a degreed engineer with unique engineering management skills, a talent to interface with the potential customers; sales, fabrication and assembly staff besides the department's engineers and designers. The department has computer based resources including AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Office and general engineering software (electrical and mechanical) to support a focus on streamlining the process towards simplifying and shortening the engineering costs for specific projects. Current concerns relate to high engineering costs and loss of potential customer sales due to time delays from initial specs to final drawings. Projects range from $1M to $60M in value. Considering current moderate economic conditions, the firm's market segment is growing globally.
The selected candidate will focus on increasing project throughput while maintaining high engineering design quality, equipment safety, efficiencies and reliability. The need is to increase engineering design simplicity utilizing advance computer based system approaches, trained and motivated personnel, allowing existing system designs to be incorporated into future projects. Project engineering man-hour levels must be reduced to increase project throughput with existing personnel. NEW - Low Grade Lumber Purchasing Manager
Base Base compensation to $80,000 DOE plus bonus. Oregon based structural lumber processor is seeking to expand purchasing program from Western U.S. and Canadian lumber mills. Focus is on utility and economy grades and shorts less than 8’ in length. Current volume is 2MMBF/week; target is to expand purchasing beyond 4MMBF/week. Selected candidate should have a solid sales product knowledge of lumber producer’s capabilities in Western U.S. and Canada.
