Shrinking Talent Pool
As the sizeable Baby-Boomer generation continues to retire, companies are finding it more and more difficult to locate and recruit the qualified staff members necessary to replace these skilled workers and keep their businesses running successfully. It could be argued that the wood products industry may be feeling the effects of this shrinking talent pool even more acutely than other industries because of it's battle on the public relations front over the past few decades. Students and younger workers seem to be focusing on careers in computer technology and related fields. To counteract this shortage, employers may need to re-evaluate their hiring criteria and consider candidates with transferable skills from other industries.
The Staff at Search North America will continue to broaden their candidate contact base by becoming active in professional and trade associations beyond those listed above. Our mission is to recruit and place the most qualified candidates for our clients' specific personnel needs.
